hi, i am finding it hard to work out which parts to get. i know what need to get just not which ones and was hoping that someone could suggest them too me.
i mostly want to water cool for the insane speeds i can overclock too and the bragging rights that go with it. i am not limited by money but would prefer it not to go over £150 - $200.
i hope to cool my CPU, GPU, i have a waterblock that came with my MB for the NB.
i have a Q8200 2.33GHz, Zotac GTX260 896mb, and a Foxconn Black Ops MB.
thanks:)

Welcome to Our home! Well, to put a price list in perspective, your going to be short on cash, in USA$, UK add 15-20%.
Rad 60 minimum
Pump 70+
CPU block 60+
GPU block and heatsinks (not full cover) 70+
Hose, fittings, fans $40+
Make sure the NB block is copper and not aluminum. If it's aluminum you do not not want to use it. My X58 mobo has a alum NB watercooled block, it came right off first thing.
Here is a great place to start to learn about watercooling. Please spend a week or so digging into the info and you can start to decide what you want to do.

Hi... First of all... WELCOME to OCFORUMS
If you are hoping to cool both your CPU and GPU then you will most likely have to go over £150... unless you can find cheap parts on Ebay.
I'm from UK too
Most blocks for you GPU cost £70 on their own...
Also you will need at least a decent 360mm radiator (40-70) and a good CPU block (40-50)
A decent pump is £50... or £70 with a reservoir bay
Then you have to account for tubing and fittings and essentials

if you wana cool both cpu and gpu you will need to go abit over 150, my cpu only loop was 170.
price brake down; all in GBP
PUMP/RES top: 1 x Swiftech MCP355/XSPC DDC Top With RESERVOIR 68.98+VAT
CPU BLOCK: 1 x D-TEK FuZion v2 CPU Block (775 Version) 44.99+VAT
RADIATOR: 1 x XSPC RS360 Black Radiator 39+VAT
TUBING: 9 x XSPC 7/16" ID - 5/8" OD Glossy Black tubing 6.93+VAT (ordered 9ft had loads left)
by the time i added hose clips and fans it ended up about 170
i dont know how much a gru block costs

:welcome: to the forum, Matt. In order to choose your parts, you first need to identify your goals. You can maximize one or two of the three basic design criteria, but not all three: high performance, small size, low noise.

i found a site where a guy had WC his pc and it happened to be the same case :) are these parts worth getting?
* D-Tek Fuzion CPU Rev2 (No quad nozzle)
* XSPC RS360 Radiator (Roof)
* XSPC RS360 Radiator (Front)
* Laiing D5 Vario Pump
* EK-XTOP on D5
* 1/2" Tubing
* 1/2" XSPC Barbs
* EK-R250 Resevoir
Maybe. Again, it depends on what you're trying to achieve.

Yes. The rads are an older design, but not bad. The CPU block is okay but ecplised by some better ones like the HK 3.0 and the GTZ SE. For your CPU it's plenty. Not enough for a i7 though.
I would have no idea why he would have all that rad for just a CPU, that's way overkill or something is missing.
If it was me i probably would swap the pump(s) for a mcp355 with an xspc restop
That would save you some space and probably some money too

I just realized that you said in your first post that you were interested primarily in overclocking for overclocking's sake. Sorry about that. Though none of them are the absolute cutting edge, the parts you listed will work.
In budget rads, I think I'd go with Swiftech's MCR320 over the XSPC RS. Though these radiators are extremely similar, IIRC, the Swiftech did a little better in Skinee's tests.
If you're short on cash, you can
- use a T instead of the res. Thought it takes some effort to get 1/2" tubing over them, many people like 5/8" copper T's from the hardware store because of their 3/4" ID. Some people even jam 7/16" tubing on these T's. Cooling performance will be the same as with a res, but you'll have to wait slightly longer for all the air to get out of the system.
- Use the stock top on your D5 for now.
- Start with only one rad. You can always add the other one when funds allow.

Check ebay for budget parts. It couldnt hurt and it will get you started. Just be warned that once you get the bug you better be ready to spend some cash cause it is irrisistable.
