It appears from Intel's website that ver 1.3 is the latest firmware version for the 34nm (G2) SSDs. As soon as Newegg has an 80 GB G2 drive in stock I am going to order one for a clean install of W7 (due to arrive today).

Three questions:

1-How do I determine what firmware version the drive comes with?
2-Does ver 1.3 include TRIM?
3-If I have to upgrade later to firmware that includes the TRIM function, will it know what memory locations have already been "deleted" or will I only be able to maintain the memory locations that get deleted after the new TRIM containing firmware is installed? (I am assuming the new firmware can be installed without wiping the drive)

All of them do come with TRIM.

Just keep in mind if you ever want to use SSDs in a raid setup, then they wont support trim. Instead you'll have to get any garbage collecting software that intel may have. Raid does not support trim at the moment.

You can check FW with an oldie but goodie app called SIW...

All of them do come with TRIM.

Are you sure about that? I thought trim was indeed planned at G2 product launch, but the firmware wasn't released until recetly. Maybe I heard wrong...
