Unless they've changed the design since i had it 2 years ago i would spare yourself the headache and get some different headsets. Went through 2 of them with the same problem, the screws eventually end up stripping the threads in the housing and then the ear cups detach from the headset. You'll find reviews online saying the same thing. That is a good price though, i paid double that when i bought it. Good thing i had best buys replacement plan.

The jack for the mic fails frequently too. The sound quality is also plain terrible.


I'm of the opinion that razer can't make a good product to save thier lives. They rely almost soley on niche products and snake oil.

If it means anything for anyone, this is true 5.1 surround sound. It's not the best out there, but it's not trash... unless you paid $130 for yours.

I paid 130... but @50 its better than most if you want 5.1.

By 5.1 I mean separated channels in a headset allowing you to very easily distinguish what direction a sound is coming from. I used this for BF2:PR and it made me a force for finding rally points back in the day. For music, its got better bass than most and gets very loud and stays clear but its very "Separated". Ive replaced these with the KOSS UR-40 that I got from blockbuster for 29.99. I would take the KOSS for enjoyment every time but if you just looking to wreck peoples days at Counterstrike L4D or BF2 these are excellent.

It uses audio jacks and USB... The USB gives it power.

It was made for a Razer Barracuda AC-1 sound card (HD-DAI) but works with normal ones, too.

I have these headphones and they are very good... pair it up with a good 5.1 sound card and you are good to go...
