I have two requests, one, that you guys look at http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_4903544/caseflownearpsu.jpg?bcHKIW8AxumZvHTU , a view of the wires around my psu/dvd/cdrw/livedrive, http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_4903544/finalcaseflow.jpg?bcHKIW8AWNPOzHTV , a "birdseye" view of my pc, the blue circle in the bottom right corner are my two 80mm's, and http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_4903544/caseflownearide.jpg?bcHKIW8A8fs7BYqu, a view of the flow around the two ide ports on the mobo and my hdd. Can you give me some suggestions on how to lower my temps? I was thinking of maybe getting some black electrical tape and taping stuff to the side of the case...

Also, since this was my first time ever installing a hsf, i was wondering if you could have a quick look at http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_4903544/hsf.jpg?bcHKIW8AOT9VAlln and tell me if it is correctly installed.

Thanks a ton

Hi Emericana,
well, the HS seems to be seated properly, and about the case airflow, please, now you using 2x80mm fans for the intake, and for the exhaust? the best results are got using the same amount of air for the intake/exhaust, and the temps must be 2-3 degree max above the ambient temp ;)

P.S. what are your Cpu temps @full load?

Sorry bout the link thing... http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/theinsaneAAA/lst

they are the 4 ones in the main group. Thanks for help

There is 1 exhaust fan and 2 intake fans in the front. I do not want to mod it to put another exhaust fan in (http://www.virtual-hideout.net/articles/pc60_exhaust_mods/index.shtml). I do not want to cut my case at all cause i am afraid i will f*ck it up.
I got my case here: http://www.directron.com/pc68.html that should give you an idea of what some of the stuff looks like and if you go into the "PC" folder of the egroup link, you can see what my actual pc looks like. I am not sure of what my load temps are since i haven ot installed anything on my hdd except win2k and the 4 in 1's yet (not even drivers). in bios it says my cpu temp is 41C.

man if u dont want to mod it then i see 2 choices.
1- pay someone to mod it.
2-watercool it!

ive had to cut on my case and i must say it didnt turn out all that great.but at least its cool in there. but if i had a lain-li like that id ship it and pay for it. at least 2-80mm exuast or 1-120mm exuast

but hey id prefer watercooling anyday. can put it in with little mods and dont need all the fans.

OK, better now. :)

Hmmm....everything looks pretty good,
But...that fan at the rear of the case..
the one "fighting" the CPU for air.....
It's an exhaust, huh? It's fighting the CPU for air.
The air that should be going onto the CPU, is being slightly directed out the exhaust.
Not all "possible" air is being put to the CPU.

 That's where ur cooling is going.

Disconnect that fan and recheck ur temps.
If it helps, redirect that fan.
Put a 90 degree angle cover over it.
That way it won't "Steal" the air for the CPU.

Hope this helps some. Or give you something to think about.

Well, considering that you don't wanna mod your case,I understand your point of view, you can replace the Power Supply fan, supposed to be an exhaust, with another Panaflo, so the amount of air for the intake, will be the same of the exhaust, or in alternative disable one of the intake fans, and check the temps results, that however are not so bad, even if still not OCed.

What is a 90 degree angle cover? where can i get it?

I am not understanding you completly. I should replace the psu fan with another intake fan? Or with another exhaust fan?

what fan do you recommend that i get?

Replace the exhaust Power Supply fan, generally crappy, with a Panaflo like the others that you've installed into the case.

LOL, srry.
You make one out of a piece of cardboard. Manilla folder or something of the like.
It is a duct. and you make the opening 90 Deg. from the fan.
( L ) Then tape it onto the fan.

Actually, I have mine ducted to the base of my HSF.
And have that exhaust fan, exausting.
YSTech fan on CPU and a Panflow Case exhaust, "Ducted" to the base of my CPU. Sucking air out the base of the CPU.

So, I really have an intake (YS) and exaust (Panflow) fan on my HS/CPU.
hehehehe, shhhhhhhhh don't tell anyone. ok? tanx.

If I can borrow the camera here from work, I will take some pics so you can see it.

The Slot Exhaust Fan and the Drive Bay Exhaust fan. Wouldnt these essentially eliminate the need to cut another hole in the case for exaust? Which one should i get? i am also going to get that global win 120mm card cooler so should i get the slot exhaust or drive bay one? will these things help?

I am not sure if i mentioned it but i am also getting a 60-92mm adapter and a panaflow 56.8cfm 92mm fan cause i could not take the sound of my 50cfm delta 60mm.

Any other suggestions?

Figure out your INCOMING CFM and EXHAUST CFM.

They need to be pretty close to the same.
A little more intake isn't bad.

I have a slot cooler too. It exhausts @ 42.5 cfm or something close to that.

Do the math.

Antec makes a 3 fan (15 cfm) 5.25 intake set.
About $10-$15 bucks.

Don't cut holes unless ur ready.

as you can seefrom the pictures of the inside of my case, i have quite a mess of stuff blocking the two intake fans. do you think i should move my hdd to the floppy drive rack and install it there or should i keep it on the hard disk rack? will my harddrive overheat that way? Right now i am not at home so i do not have any way of using my pc but how am i supposed to tell the cfm's of the fans i have?

as a matter of fact I just added another intake, and yes I think you should have a fan on your hd,one way or another.and yes, thats the reason for rounded cables,to keep the airpath clear as possible.here is the 3rd intake just for my hardrive.

and then I have the other two intakes below the hd rack and fan.
notice how uncluttered my box is? and nothing in front of the fans?

Ok, i figured out the CFM's of the intake and exhaust fan i have. The 80mm's are 50CFM each so i currently have 100cfm intake and 50CFM exhaust. However, today i just picked up a slot exhaust fan (42.5cfm) so that makes it 92.5 and 100.

My one question is this. If i pick up a Globalwin CAF-12 Card Cooler, do i need to get another exhaust fan or will i be fine? the specs and such for the card are http://www.plycon.com/coolgear.htm

thanks for input
