So uhh, WTH is "jitter"?
Jitter
Once you understand ping, jitter should also make sense. Jitter is merely the variance in measuring successive ping tests. Zero jitter means the results were exactly the same every time, and anything above zero is the amount by which they varied. Like the other quality measurements, a lower jitter value is better. And while some jitter should be expected over the Internet, having it be a small fraction of the ping result is ideal.

I have my upload limited to that because my brother does heavy p2p and is constantly using all our upload bandwidth, so i just cut it back to about 80% of what it can handle. Runs great :D

Stuck with Vodafone mobile broadband here in the UK. Will be getting a phone line installed when my contract ends. Going to be expensive as there has been no landline at my house for over a year.

Upload speeds suck, but the alternative would be to go COX, and they definitely earn their name.
A rant:
I signed up with COX after speaking with a business account manager. He quoted 10MB/2MB. I asked him very plainly and several times that he meant what he said when he said megabyte. I was like wow, you guys list your products in terms of MegaBytes! That is awesome, I have to do a conversion with all the other companies. He proudly said, "yes, but we are different!." I was suspicious, but hell, this is an account services manager, he should know.
He emailed me the contract, and I noticed that it said 10 Mbps, and not 10 MBps. I called him again to confirm. Yup yup, megabytes not megabits. Stupid of me, because I should have double checked elsewhere, but yes, Mbps means megabits. I didn't realize it then, so I signed the contract.
COX comes out and sets up my crap a few weeks later. Tech leaves. I do speedtest. SOB! Megabits!
I call the dude up again. He denies everything. I immediately disconnected the modem and signed up with QWEST. I spend the next two months arguing with COX trying to get out of the contract.
I have no proof that the guy lied through his teeth, and they have a signed contract. I'm pretty much boned. I end up paying $200 to cancel the contract. I could try to fight it, but in the end it will cost me more than $200 in head aches, and I might still end up needing to pay it.
I wrote it off as a learning experience.
EDIT:
The account services manager name was Paul Bellizio.

Best ISP in my area I believe, Virgin Media is bad beyond belief.
I pay for 24/1.3 and get 15/1.3, on average I think the UK has the slowest broadband in most if not ALL of Europe whilst being the most expensive...

Be happy you can get what you get for the price you pay.

AND.... if you want a 4/1mbps cable line it will run you about $120. They have a 4/1 ADSL that is $99 and is more reliable than cable.
