Hi,

I'm new to OCing and to the forum, so I'm hope I'm posting in the right place.

I want to get the q9400 with the G41M-ES2L MoBo. After reading about OCing a bit, I understand I need a MoBo that can go past FSB of 1333 (1600), which the G41M-ES2L doesn't seem to do (by spec on GB site). However, looking at GigaByte and ASUS sites I couldn't find any G41 based MoBo which does, so I'm wondering...

I'm assuming OCing is possible with G41 MoBos, so will the G41M-ES2L or G41M-ES2H do? I'm looking to go to 3.0Ghz or 3.2Ghz, not further. Would I be better off with an ASUS?

One alternative for me is to go for GA-G31M-ES2L.

If one of these are fine for OCing the Q9400, would I need a special fan or will the stock one do for 3.0Ghz?

BTW, I'm a bit on a budget and pretty much went as high as I can already.

thanks
Yaron.
