Need some advice on good DDR3 RAM, four P55 mobo.
Looking to do some overclocking, so I would want some headroom for the RAM. I don't want to overclock the RAM... I was looking at gskill trident (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231282), but was unsure of the voltage, 1.6v? It that the new spec for DDR3? Want to stay around $125 for 4 gig...
Any advice is welcome..

Bump!
No takers?
wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR3_SDRAM : DDR3 memory provides a reduction in power consumption of 30% compared to DDR2 modules due to DDR3's 1.5 V supply voltage, compared to DDR2's 1.8 V or DDR's 2.5 V
it looks like 1066 and 1333 are the two "standards". i haven';t really gotten in to ddr3 yet so i don't know much more than that. i'd say you are safe going with a standard brand and I consider GSkill to be a standard brand. Kingston HyperX is usually good too but I normally stay away because it's normally much higher priced than those from GSkill. I have no idea what the difference is between the "Ripjaws" and the "Trident" but i'd assume at ddr3-2000 that you could get the cheapest set and not have to worry about it as you wouldn't be running much above 2000mhz.

I'm rocking the 2000mhz Ripjaws on P55, and love them so far. Well over 2100mhz cas 8 with 1.65v

Get these ones. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231281
For the price, you can't go wrong. And these sticks seem to be doing better on average than the lower clocked ones.
There's a Ripjaws thread at XS with some really amazing oc results

Cas latency 9... Not going to see a difference from 7?

You can run the 2000mhz sticks at the same speed and timings as the 1600mhz sticks if you want, but there's a better guarantee the 2000mhz sticks will clock better. I have no hard evidence of this other than what I've read in that XS thread. And there are people running their 2000mhz sticks at cas 7 too, but I haven't gotten mine to do that yet.

G.skill or die, they are seriously the best manufacture out there right now.

It would seem that 1600Mhz is the sweet spot. Leaving your memory divider alone, you could go up to 4.4Ghz on a i7 860. Theoretically of course. So 2000Mhz just gives you more headroom.... I was looking at these (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231282) originally, however what ever you guys recommend I'll go with.. I trust you guys!

Those would be just as good for your purposes :)
There may be clearance issues on some P55 boards and certain heatsinks though. I don't know for sure off hand if the Tridents are much taller than the Ripjaws, but with my Ultra 120 it was a pretty tight fit on my P55-UD6. On the P55-GD80 it's still tight, but completely manageable.

This is the board (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128402) I'm getting... Looks like the same except more RAM slots for the UD6..

Joeteck here's a nice article about memory:

Very helpful in explaining speeds/latencies.

There are some good deals on newegg for memory but not for the Ripjaws :-(
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) is under 150 now. Did price come in to it when recommending the RipJaws I have a 920 and looking to pickup some memory and a motherboard. (6gig DDR3)

Went for the corsairs the rebait helped me with the pick, Tock them to a friends house to test and all seam look good for my new build. Should I run them through Memtest I just tested that visa and bois could see all the memory.

It couldn't hurt but, then again if your not having any problems I wouldn't worry about it.
