I HATE THIS CARD SO MUCH I NEED NEW ONE.

I am a big game player and i watch lots of dvds on my comp.

1) geforce 3 it 500

Go with the ATI 8500. In games speed is close between the 2 cards but the ATI has a better picture. Also the ATI has great DVD playback.

vinny i think you should read some review on internet and make your own decision. you chose two top-rated different cards, despite the difference they have, there is no an evident champion - up to now. make a surf and check what reviewers r talking about both.
my choice would be ti500.

my choice is the 8500
1) cheaper
2) better image quality
3) better dvd playback
4) better tv out
5) faster (the hardware is faster, but the drivers hamper the games slightly for now)
6) decent drivers, and will only get better :)

Is there that many games right now that can utilize either the gForce 3 Ti 500 or the Ati 8500? If so how many? As you said you are a big gamer. It seems like a lot of money to me for something you may not get any return on. By the time any developers use the features of these cards, the next generation of chipsets are released. Where to draw the line. Any comments?

I would wait a week.

The official launch date for the GF4 is Feb 6

The GeForce 4MX Pro looks to be a good card clocked @ 300/550 (core/mem).

Or at least the prices will come down some on the GF3's

I agree with BigRed...I LOVE my 8500:p
Only one person has a higher 3dmark in WinXP with Athlon xp at 1400mhz, and he has custom water cooling on an athlon 1800+ (unlocked and underclocked?) and bus speed of 174 mhz. I have no extra cooling yet.

Him: http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2347677 (He only ran the first 7 tests)

Other than him, the next few scores are by a mix of 8500s and GeForce3s they are running neck and neck. But I still beleive the Radeons have the best features as well as the cleanest picture, all at a lower price.

PS. Radeon 8500 is #1 on madonion's hall of fame

go for the 8500...im getting one in May when I get more cash and prices should be low...oh and prices for geforce4 should be moderately high...atleast as much as major nvidia vid card manufacturers put their geforce3 ti500's probably even more though.

LOL

A three pound bag of spaghetti and a jar of Ragu will go a long way for about $6

I was a Teenager one too.
