Hi there, i need help removing the stock fan/heatsink off a p3.
Any advice or online documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Slot is pretty frustrating.

Socket is pretty easy.

Slot:

Take the case screw of your case and turn the slot backwards so you see the Intel shiny sticker with the four holes. What you do is stick the case screw in the holes and push with lots of might (Not killing the cartidge) and the things will pop out. Some will be so hard to push out you feel as your going to break the slot any second.

Socket:

In socket clips down to the lug there is something for a flat head screwdrive on the right side of the clip to push down. Push down and then steer the clip to the right with the screwdrive and pull the heatsink off the left side of the lug.

greetings, thanks for the speedy replies.

the CPU is a slot design, i used Yodums directions for removal and it worked...felt as though it was about to break, then snap! dislodged like a champ ;)
