Anti Static bags

What's the difference between anti static bags and normal plastic. I mean like what different in the material that protects them. I always thought that plastic was bad for having static.

Antistatic bags have an acetate coating, which does not build a static charge.

Yep, and some like the black (high carbon-not like a garbage bag) ones and the metalic ones work like a faraday cage of sorts. When you touch them with a static charge, it's disipated into the surface they sit on.
