What type sound card/video card are you using, what type speakers?

Standard PC speakers and intergrated VIA audio on my board. Simple setup, dunno why it wont play all the audio on my 2.1 speakers while it works fine on headphones.

You probably have a multichannel audio stream in the video and all you hear is 2.1 because VLC thinks it's 5.1. You're missing the center channel (plus rear). Poke around in your sound control panel for your speaker sound device and see if there isn't a config setting to tell it you're using 2.1 instead of 5.1. Also check VLC for the same. Menus: Audio/Audio Device and Audio/Audio Channels.

Well its only with this video too. Im looking around but I cant find anything like that in VLC or the VIA control pannel for forcing 2.1 play back. All VLC has is stereo, mono, and reverse stereo on the audio channels (its set for stereo) and Stereo or mono under audio device.

VLC is garbage... get into Combined Community Codecs (CCC) should fix your issue... your head phones are only picking up on 2 channel stereo where the source is in 5.1. You need to matix it down to 2 channel... don't sweat it, uninstall VLS (control pannel -> remove programs) and then install CCC... you'll be good. Failing that grab a cheap audio card that has some form of Digital output ($14), check reciever SPDIF/optical and let the reciever figure it out.
