ok first i have no pic so i have to try and describe it.
its a aluminum heat sink my pops got from his work for me.
"i have a standing order on all unused sinks":D

anyhow it has long 5" or so fins about 1" wide,as thick as my ddr stick itself.
i wanna take a hacksaw and cut these fins off and use thermal adhesive to mount em on both sides my ddr sticks.

im low on my fsb now@143 but my watercooling goes in next week and i wanna crank on my fsb!
its running @2-2-2 also
i saw on my digidoc i was hitting 49-50c on my ddr chips when running 3dmark2001

any thoughts? or sujjestions?

SVCompucycle (http://www.SVCompucycle.com) has thermal glue pretty cheep. If you want to have the sinks stick this is the best way to do it. If you have airflow over the ram sinks you will be even better off. Lapping the sinks and polishing them will make a little difference but may not be worth the time if you don't have the supplies.

In my opinion there´s not much practical use in Ram sinks. But they do look great:D
So, do it if you have the time!
Have fun

a dremal might work better then a hack saw if you own one

nope no dremel here. i have a jig saw,and a hack saw.
and the jig saw already has been used to hack my nice case up!
i do need one tho.

and yeh those are the ones i was talken about from "TT"
but the ones from this heat sink are far thicker at the base, and no protruding fins tho.

what ill be attaching looks like a really thick aluminum ruler.

does anyone think these temps are high for ram? 49-50c ?
i know my xp doesnt like 50c and above.
