Under Win 2K, where do the programs start from? I know StartUp folder of course and in registry there is software/microsoft/windows/current version/run under both - local machine and current user. In Win 9x it also used to be runservices in the registry and files could also start from win.com and autoexec.bat (the oldfashioned way). But where do the services (the progs that start before the login screen that is) start under Win 2K?

Thanx.

You can still use "MSConfig" (Microsoft Configuration Utility) to access your startup programs (from the "Startup" tab), even though it's not included as part of W2K. Below is a link to a previous thread which includes an attachment containing "MSConfig.exe", which will work fine in either W2K or WinXP.

into the administrative tools you can find the "services" where youll be able to configure them to initialize or not, or to start only when they r needed.
