Second loop I have built in my life. Made the same n00b mistake I made with my first under powered loop. Forgot to soak the rad and block before I hooked it up. Fortunately, the blue chunks collected at the top of the res and I wiped it out. Block is DEFINITELY coming apart for a good cleaning when the loop does sometime in the next week or two.

The loop is coming back apart because I have to build a case for it. Design is all set I have just been too busy/lazy to get er done. I already have the materials though. A project log will be forthcoming. The design is actually very similar to the acrylic sled bench in the project logs now, except I work with wood. (and the front of the case is basically all rad :) ) It is called my "Slide" since it will slide into the left pedestal of my desk (also in project logs :) )

Leak testing right now. Here are the pre-tubing teaser pics.

EVGA E758 motherboard
Core i7 920
3x1GB Patriot ELK Extreme Viper series (cheap, but runs fast and tight :) )
2400XT (looking at upgrading the video card now, 4890 is on my 24/7 rig an AMD 920)
2x 500GB Black series
SATA DVDRW
Corsair TX950

Black Ice GTX 480
Swiftech Apogee GTZ w/ 1366
Swiftech 655
Swiftech Resevoir (dunno model)

Thanks to ChickenPatty (from Techpowerup, XtremeSystems and Overclockaholics) for the sweet deal on the WC loop :)

My old board, PSU and a Mjöllnir (thors hammer lol) courtesy of Kal-El (from lots of forums) got this puppy up to 4.4 ish HTT and 4.65 non HTT before.

Hoping to get a lot more play room from this setup :)

Lol, love the Rad in the window :D

I need to get a WC setup for my system... if for nothing else than the nice silence.

Think it would be possible to convection cool with a large enough rad, or am i just dreaming?

It has been done many times before. I do not see why not. The 655 surprised me just how quiet it is too (once the loop is properly bled of course). At 3.6 GHz I think it should be pretty easy to get a passive rad or two cooling it off.

zalmans reserator series works on convection. Or like the guy over at XS you could always throw some copper tubing in the ground and run passive that way. His temps were not great, but they were consistent :)

Thanks, i may try that once i get some money that i can throw into liquid cooling... i'm still running on the stock heatsink

I thought you ment that your cooling setup leaked on your i7 lol. What are the blue chunks exactly?

Nice rad in the window must work great in the winter hehe.

Nice wooden benching station :) Radiator in the window is a good idea too, I've had great results with that. You should build a little duct so it draws air in through the radiator and blows it right back out the window, not letting your heat out. I'm also curious about these blue chunks... I've never bought WC gear from smurfs though.

looks great Neuromancer, how's the ambient temps outside?

with my system (look in sig) i can run at stock settings if i shut off all the fans on my 3 triple 120mm rads. i get temps in the 60's though :(

i left it loading with prime95 for 5 hours it peaked at 68 i think.

We all don't live in cold climates unfortunately. :) At least once or twice a year, I can say...wow, it's snowing outside.

Hitting a warming trend, low of 45 tonight and 45-50 the next few nights highsi nthe mid 60's during the day. Wish I had this setup last night. (dropped to 27 :) )

Unfortunately system is not posting ATM. Thought I had it narrowed down to the PSU but when i did a complete switch got the same rebootski error

Pulled the loop off going to try some different things out. Need to clear my head though. Going to chill and watch some stargate for a bit :) LOL 5 minutes of stargate I was back on it, and fixed it. Praise be to SG-1!

Ben: Yup that is my intention. My room is always very warm though so leaving the window open is pretty normal for me.

Definitely need to clean out hte block and rad.

Prime blending 64 bit style 8 thread at 4200 (yeah!) at 60-54-59-53 temps are still dropping (was blending with fans at 7v at first)

Rad is in the window though with 47F air. Going to see how it does with room temp after the temps stabilize.
