ive just got a DFI LanParty UT-X48-T2R but my enermax galaxy 1000 isnt working with it.
ive been reading about it and it seems a long standing issue between the manufacturers, the problem is the pwr_ok signal isnt strong enough.
ive read there is a resistor mod that can be done between the pwr_ok and a 5v lead but cant find any info on what resistor i need.
any ideas?
a new psu isnt an option at the mo,i know the galaxy is working fine because im using now with my striker extreme,e6600@3.5,4870x2,2x raptor x.
will the galaxy be ok to run another 4870x2 in crossfire?thats the main reason for the new mobo.

Should be fine for another 4870x2 assuming you have enough PCIE cables.
have you tried the motherboard with another PSU? Can you RMA the PSU?

Is the problem the strength or the timing? Because sometimes the voltage of the signal can be increased by wiring a 1,000-2,000 ohm resistor between the green wire and any red wire. OTOH to delay the Power-Good signal some more, splice something like a 300 ohm resistor inline with the green wire, and connect the end closest to the mobo power connector to the positive terminal of a capacitor rated hundreds or even a few thousands of microfarads, the negative terminal to ground (black wire).

from what ive read the problem is theres not enough power being fed back to the psu on the pwr_ok line(grey wire)
i got it wrong in the first post about being a capacitor needed and it is a resistor i need so i think you may have answered my question.
have you got a diagram of the what i need to do or a link to a site with one?
cheers dave

1K - 2K resistor between grey and red wires. I'd try jamming it into the back of the mobo connector. If the fit is loose, get a 1/2 watt resistor because its wire leads are usually thicker. See: "pull-up resistor".

I have an Enermax Galaxy 1000w and i was running 2 4870x2's in crossfire... worked fine. what connectors are you using for the cards and where do they originate from the PSU?
I had a problem where i hooked them up wrong and they didn't work... but if you hook them up correctly they work fine
