My old pentium 100 can't shut down in Win98 - it just hangs on the screen that says "Windows is not shutting down". The problem remains even after I reinstall windows. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks.

The shutdown problem you're experiencing could be caused by any number of things. I would suggest either using the built-in troubleshooter from within Win98, or following the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following MSKB article...

You can try this;
Run msconfig.exe, choose the "General" tab. Click "Advanced", turn on the "Disable fast shutdown" option, and click OK twice when you are done.
Hope this helps.
