i have an Elsa Geforce 2 MX400 64mb, and it has the standard black Heatsink, however it is on the verge of overheating as it it is red hot in operation and it won't let me overclock without becoming unstable.
I have a Blue Orb Geforce chipset fan cooler and i presently have it stuck ontop of the heatsink with a thermal sticker, where it reduces the heat to an extent where i can actually touch the heatsink. Would it be more effective if i took the heatsink off the chip and just attached the fan directly onto it? I have thermal grease and clips. Which is more effective, a sticker or grease?

Grease is definitly better... too late to think about the other problem lol thinking hurts moving onto 24hrs w/o sleep

Yes, get rid of the standard heatsink. Remove it carefully so you don't damage the gpu chip underneath. Then apply some thermal grease ( arctic silver II is the best, but cheap radio shack paste works well for its price ) and it should have two holes in the card that line up with the pin mounts on the orb. Attach the fan and overclock! :) You could lap the bottom of the orb before applying the paste. Lapping - use very fine wet and dry sandpaper to rub back a ultra smooth bottom surface of the orb. This increases heat transfer into the heatsink. I'm gonna lap mine soon ( when I can be bothered ).
Have fun! :D
