I see all these things of how PC users don't go for DLC, but really didnt we start DLC in the form of expansion packs?
Yes, I do recognize it that expansion packs in general are not strictly downloadable, but the concept seems the same to me. Additional content that requires the original game to run that you pay money for, usually released by the original developer?
Look at some of the expansion packs out there, who played starcraft without playing broodwar, or Age of Kings without getting the Conquers? Or think about the success of the sims and their expansion packs.
It seems that PC users are happy to pay for more content, just when we pay for more content we want the additional content to have the same value as the original game. If the original game came with 10 hours of gameplay for $50 then the expansion should provide 2 hours of gameplay for $10.
It seems all consoles have done is minaturize the payments and size of the expansion packs.
I'm not really sure where I was going with this...just food for thought I guess.
