I've been wanting to try WoW, but with the size of all the installed files, took me about 72 hours to download. I knew I couldn't run the default trial installer, because I couldn't resume the download if I needed to turn off the PC, so I got the x.xx patch (seems to be the full game) from there WoW wiki (http://www.wowwiki.com/Patch_mirrors) - but one problem... after all that waiting, Installer Tome 2.mpq.part is corrupt, and there's no way to download the files seperately (and nowhere, it seems). Does anyone have some sort of idea or solution for this? For a game that's accused of getting people hooked, Blizzard are making it pretty inaccessible!!!

Is the game installed fully? You can try to run their repair.exe

you can try that.. im at work so idk if that link is 100% correct.

Also DL them straight from WoW was the fastest way i've come across having to redo it since I formatted 2 weeks ago. Other than that... there's really not many other way's unless you have the cd's.

I believe fileplanet has a copy you can download, you can also borrow someone's disks if you know someone who owns a copy. You can also try redownloading it or have someone else redownload it for you. If someone has default wow installed (unlikely as most people who own the game now have the expansions installed as well) you can just get a copy of their wow directory and play from that.

The trial account does not have a specific client attached to it, you can play a trial account from a full client.

Yeah pretty much what they said.

Copy whole directory of wow from someone's computer.

Borrow someone's discs and then install (will cut the download down to a minimum).

After starting your trial, go to your wow account and download the client downloader. Even though there is one for trial and full, just get the full one. If you have to stop the download, that is fine, it'll pick back up where it left off if you start up wow.

Don't do it though.... you'll be sucked in! Goodluck and don't let it overcome you.
