i was just thinking, we all know what you get when you put a Pentium 4 with SDRAM; but what happens with AMD XP and SDRAM? is that better? i don't see why it would be, isn't it the same problem? is it just that P4+SDRAM were/are pushed hard by OEM's and the like, or that AMD has moved onto DDR? or what?

this has been bugging me for a bit, and i wonder if anyone else has thought this too...

SDRAM anything is going to be bottlenecked at the CPU. DDR is the way to go.

P4's don't use SDR, they use DDR or RD-Ram.

Pentium 4's do use sdram and they suck at it ,thats why they are changeing too DDR.

Nick, yes they do. Wildone I would'nt say they suck, but they are the least desireable. Cheap when you already have the ram though. And plenty of upgrade opps. too. For the 478pin anyway. Rambus mobo, Gf4, 2.2 Northwood. Let you know by april I hope, heh heh. Oh yeh Cecil I don't think the AMD suffers as much from the SDRAM as th PIV does though.

I said they sucked and I meant for ever thinking they could bottle neck and current cpu with sdram ,also one of my friends bought a compaq 1.6 p4 with sdram ,and I can tell the difference in speed ,on everyuthing ,just my opinion.

Branded compaq, bet it does suck. Sorry did'nt mean to offend anyone. Maybe thats what causeing my random reboots, ehh. Evil SDRAM.

HEHE wasnt offended ,but I just dont understand intel sometimes if ya know what I mean ,DDR was basically the same price at one time as sd ram ,why would they cripple a chip like that?

Pentium 4 Williamette weren't too good and without RDRam I think its pointless to buy a P4 and not sure RD Ram.

Its like buying an XP 1900+ using SDRam usesless!

I like P4 w/ Rambus as I've seen DDR slowing some P4 down from overclocking.
