Guys help me out a little.

I just finished Crysis on High graphics, but in the future I want the games to run on the highest graphics possible - smoothly.

I had an issue in Crysis. When I turned Very High graphics on, screen rate to 1920x1080, AA to 16xQ and VSync on - the problem started.

The game lagged, especially when I moved and turned my head. Also it would randomly lag even on High graphics with Motion Blur turned off, AA on 4x and VSync off. Also I saw few times minor mistakes in the graphics. Weird lines on the faces, objects would disappear for a moment and at one point, I could even see my arms floating in the air freely as I was equipped with the rocket launcher.

Is there something wrong with my hardware? Or is it maybe the game itself? Or did I just buy a noob system 3 weeks ago?

Here are the specs:

- Windows 7 64bit Home Edition

- BenQ G2420HD screen (Maximum refresh rate 60Hz)

- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.7GHz - Overclocked to 3.67GHz

- Mushkin G.Skill 6144MB DDR3-2000MHz RAM

- Samsung 1 TB Spinpoint F1 7200rpm

- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 1792MB GDDR3, PCI-E, 2xDVI, HDM

- Asus Rampage II Extreme X58

- Thermaltake 1500W power supply

Please help me, thanks!

Have you tried updating your nvidia drivers? Some versions perform better then others.
You have just about the best system you can get and the stutter shouldnt be that bad.

Yah sounds like a software issue to me.

Only thing I could see HW wise is the single HDD, but that would only cause an issue occasionally in the game (loading maps etc)

First I would check to ensure you are running the most recent nvidia drivers. After that I would run crysis at those settings with a temperature m onitor going for your video card and see what kind of temperature it is running at.

I have the latest drivers for my v-card. But the problem hasn´t disappeared. I read somewhere that it could be a VSync problem, but it occurred again after I had turned it off

I have never tried monitoring my hardware. I think I had a V-tune or something on the CD that came with the v-card. Maybe I´ll try that out, unless you can suggest a better one?

Thanks anyway! Still searching for answers, so keep on posting

I really appreciate the effort

Well, some updating to my situation. Also Crysis Warhead performs as bad as the first Crysis. Far Cry 2 is lagging on max graphics and Racedriver GRID sometimes lags. GRID issue feels like the image stops for a fraction of a second, then it speeds up after that like it would be catching up. I´m sure you know what I´m talking about. Sometimes the same happens with videos.

I´ve also read stuff about 295 GTX. For some people it performs worse than 8800GT..

In 3DMark Vantage I got system score 21808. CPU score was 46376 and graphics only 18535..

I´ve monitored the temps, and there was only a 2-degree change after an hour of playing Far Cry 2.

HEEEEEELP! :rain:

You have a really nice PC but there's no way you could run Crysis at 1920x1080 on highest setting with 16AA and AF...

AA and AF kill it for you.

You're fine.
