Came across this while surfing:

I was wondering if someone put on a pair of the dual core opteron 270's

if it would do any good at smp and still be able to run a gpu client also.

if you can overclock them i think it would be very fun and cheap, and great find if someone has any 940's already

Looks like you're gonna need DDR 400 ECC for that board though. All in all not a bad deal.

I had a Asus K8N-DL several years ago, I wish I had kept it long enough to try it with the SMP work units. IIRC I used nTune (http://www.nvidia.com/object/ntune_2.00.23.html) to OC it, as there were virtually no options to do so in the BIOS.
