I have the number "1" selected now.
Does this mean that 1 WU is uploaded/downloaded?
If I were to choose a greater number, would that mean that number of WU's would be up/downloaded?
Cache size is how many WU's you have saved to be processed, mine are set at usually about 15, 30 for my duallies, just so that if for a few days you have problems connecting you can still have work for your computer to process. Some people like really big Caches because they never have to worry about their computer running out of work.

Thanks, I think I'll bump mine up a little.

What is this yellow antenna mean?
means you have WU's to download or upload or both.
Put your cursor over the yellow telescope it should tell you what your missing and can't retrieve off the Seti database. EG: I now got 1 to return and 1 to fill as my desired cache size is 5 so one is missing and that missing one I finished :)

Berkeley, during 2001, had 2 major outages - Feb and May, that lasted up to 5 days. The best way to choose the size of your cache is to calculate how many WU's per day your machine crunches and multiply that by about 5 or 6 days. That way if Berkeley has an extended outage, you won't be wasting any cycles.

Yep, I remember those.
So, accordingly I set my caches on each PC to hold 7 days worth of WU's. I did have them all setup for 4 days, but don't want idle PC's if they decide to shutdown the system for overhauling.
