I know this has been stated in about 20 different threads already, but I have yet to see anyone link to this official nvidia announcement and therefore thought I would share:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/io_1258360868914.html

Particularly at the bottom of the article, note:
Editors’ note: As previously announced, the first Fermi-based consumer (GeForce®) products are expected to be available first quarter 2010.

I was really hoping for a December release, at least Nvidia is stepping up and declaring Q1 as "an expected date". I wish they were a little more specific and officially stated the month...

If you haven't been following other threads about the Fermi, here's some other useful Fermi Info:

I don't see a confirmation, I see an "expected to be available Q1 2010"

Translation: "Our yields, which may or may not be really, really terrible, have forced us to delay the card till at least 1Q 2010".

Good for ATI.
Bad for Intel.

I have to laugh at the nvidia fanboys that said charlie was, as usual, full of it and the card wouldn't be delayed.

Charlie is sometimes correct, but even then he puts a negative spin on every nVidia story. It gets quite old. It ruins his credibility.

Uhm, I also have to laugh at the ATI fanboys who are ignoring the horrible 40nm yields that company is facing as well ;)

Lol .... If they dont fix this problem soon its not going to be good for ati at all since they arent making half of what they should be. I expect nvidia to sell more in half the time ati has.

Yeah, there is so much demand, but no cards. ATI and nVidia both need to make sure the yields are high or at least make enough before they're released.

ATIs were better then Nvidias, it looks to me like the Fermi core had an issue in design that dropped the yield further then the generic lousy 40nm yield. That should be fixed now, so they're stuck with roughly the same yields as ATI (except a bit lower, due to the larger die).

Plus of course, ATI has good enough yields to hack out chunks of the die and call it a 57xx.

I hope that nvidia gets the fermi out in time to stay in decent shape developing newer gpus, but i also hope that they get enough bad publicity from lying about things that they stop lying quite so much. That's the only reason i'm down on nvidia, i don't appreciate blatent lies :P

I bet that ATI is stockpiling cards right now to sell right before christmass, that's what i would do.

I really misread that. You are obviously correct, it does say expected. Man, I really hope then it will be Q1 2010 and expected is not lawyer speak for actually much later. I guess even if it is delayed, we'll then hopefully get a better, more polished product when it does come out...

I edited the title and original post accordingly, thanks.

As said before for many many things, throw enough crap and some of it will stick.

Doesn't make him some all knowing Oracle, though he acts like a weird old woman enough anyways......

ATIs were better then Nvidias,

Im not sure if I would say better, maybe ATi's design was easier to make?

Maybe it wasnt as complex as NV's design?

It seems that sometimes trying to make big things into small packages isnt an easy task
