View Full Version : Question and good news.
Well, first the good news. I sold my dual PIII 1GHz parts and got enough for the dual Duron rig that I'm going to replace it with. May sound like a bad trade-off, but the Durons do get better times. Gives me a much better upgrade path as well. :D
Question I had was if the 1GHz Durons are Morgan cores...as in, are all 1GHz Durons Morgan cored? I was pretty sure they were but wanted to be positive before ordering. TCWO has such good pricing on them that it made me wonder.
Hopefully I'll have all of this in by the middle or end of next week.
Found my own answer and I'm all set.

Seems to me that if running at 133 (266) MHz FSB you have a Morgan. If it's 100 (200) MHz FSB it is a Spitfire.
I've got XPs in the one I'm running now. Both Durons run at 100MHz bus but the Morgan is based on the Palomino so has multiprocessing ability built in.
For some reason I thought that the Spitfire core ended at 1GHz and there were still some left out there for sale. I knew the Morgans started at 1GHz but wanted to be sure that's what I was getting for my next dually.
TCWO has them for $46 a piece and confirmed they were Morgans so that's where I'm getting mine next week.
Well ya found yur answer and your trader would never lie to mod. :D I also have a question. For dual machines is running (2) x Seti Applications or is it into one. I'm getting confused into that.

You can run a different instance of SETI in each processor. YOu can let SETIDriver do that for you, or you can set it in the config file of SETIDriver and have two different folders for each processor.
Thanks for clearing that up.
Jon, what mobo are you using for the duo?
Have an Asus A7M266-D as of now. Plan on getting another unless EPoX comes out with theirs by the time I'm ready to buy (next week). I like this one well enough to get another.
Hows the board Jon? The A7M is being delivered right now so its some where..

can u oc the fsb on the a7m266-D very much? i know the original asus a7m266 worked great for me i had my fsb up to 160 without any problems
Love the board (is why I'm selling one of my Intel duallies for another :D).
FSB is adjustable up to 180MHz. Mine seems to stop at about 150MHz as I get errors after that. Ran at 155MHz but got IE crashes about every 10 minutes. I believe with a volt mod on my processors, I could run it easily at 155-160MHz. Memory seems to take it fine.
