hi, i just built myself a brand new computer this week, I'm wondering if i should go for a new soundcard.
I currently have Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, is it worth for me to buy Hercules Surround XP or Creative Audigy?
I need optical or coaxial out like i have with my current sound card.

also, what is the difference between the Audigy player and platinum?
is the platinum connectors put on a cd-tray drive, because i don't like my connections to be on the front on the computer

thanks

I also have a Santa Cruz Turtle Beach.
Personally I don't see it worth upgrading you're sound card as long as it still works for your current set up. If you're having problems with you're sound card. I'd go for the hercules.

As far as I'm aware the Audigy Platinum has the connection plate that first in a drive bay, so you probably want to avoid that card.

All of this is of course IMO

yeah i guess i might stick with the Santa Cruz Turtle Beach, works well, i'll wait for the next generation of Creative sound cards after the Audigy whenever it may come

It depends how much sound you really like. The GTXP and Augidy compare well but I like GTXP better. If you just listen to music and play hard games which you like the sound and you have like a reciever etc than I'd switch since the Santa Cruz doesn't support that I think not too sure.

But its what works best for you!
