Ok, I just got a Athlon XP 1700 and I'd like to get the idle CPU temp of 49C down some. My case currently only has a 80mm intake fan and a volcano 6cu+ on the chip. I have not moded a case for fan installs before so I need some input from those with experience.

Question 1:
I was on www.sidewindercomputers.com listening to different fans in their listening room. In particular I was listening to a couple different 120 mm fans. The Sunon120x38 mm lists 108 CFM at 42 db. The Globe Fan Ultra-Cool 120mm clear lists 89 CFM at 39 db. When I listen to the recording of the fan noise for these two fans the Sunon fan seems WAY louder than the Globe, but there is only 3db of difference there. Does this seem reasonable? The volcano6 already sounds like a jet engine so I dont really want to add 2 more massive jet engine sounding fans to my setup, but I do want to be moving enough air to make a difference. I'm assuming the best way to do this is with a 120mm intake and a 120mm exhaust. I dunno if the case will fit a 120mm exhaust so I might have to do a combination of 80s or something.

Question 2:
What fan brands and sizes are best to use? Or does it not really matter except in terms of noise and CFM?

Question 3:
Is the optimal situation where your intake fan(s) CFM is basically the same as your exhaust fan(s) CFM?

Thanks in advance for the help!
