Hey there guys. I bought 6 of these last week - Yate Loon 120x20mm D12SM-12C Fan (http://www.crazypc.com/products/d12sm-12c-55520.html). It says they are 62cfm with only 28.5dba. They will be replacing some Panaflo NMB-MAT FBA12G12U1BX's. Those puppies are 114cfm, 46dba. Even when hooked up to a fan controller, those Panaflows still make some noise! I was wondering if I made the right choice to go with these particular Yate Loons? I was thinking of quieter operation overall, as I think that 114cfm through a PA 120.3 was just a little overkill lol. Let me know what you guys think!

I was using six of them (slightly more powerfull at 1650rpm)
no problem with noise or need for a controller.
my current fans now are ac ryan and they need to be turned down!
(sound more like ryan air)
thoes yates have a quiet barring and there not to much CFM

I'm using 3 Yate Loon lows (with leds) on my PA120.3 and they seem to do the job pretty quietly. This is in my U2-UFO case. I have a total of 6 Yate lows and 3 Yate Mediums in the case and it's still not very noisy.

I own 10 1350rpm yate. Full speed they are still silent. @ 1000rpm you cant ear it at all.

Thanks guys for the vote of confidence. All these years I've heard nothing but good things about Yate Loons, but I've just never ordered any. I'm really looking forward to getting these :)

I love my Yates. They push a very good amount of air, and are quieter than most other fans I have worked with that claimed the same CFM ratings with supposedly lower noise. I have been noticing that their dba ratings seem to be fairly close to right on the money, although all I have really had to compare them to is other fans. I don't really have a way to measure airflow, but the high's do move quite a bit of air. I think you will be quite pleased with your purchase.

Thanks deadly. I can't believe I've waited all these years to get Yates... I should be fined -2 cool points for this discretion.

It's ok, you already had +5 cool points for having the Ultra High Speed Panaflos, so you're still in the positive.

Put them on the bottom of the case as exhaust, and post a video of it on YouTube. Then you can name it the hoverPC.:p I would do the same, but I will be running 3 high speed Yates on the rad I'm getting with a fan controller.

Make sure to post up your opinion about the Yates. I'm still looking for a place to put my Panaflo ultra high, but from the looks of it, I will need 2 more if I want to use them on a rad, if I can ever get one ordered. I also don't have a fan controller that can really handle 3, so I would have to work to figure something out for that as well. If I just 7 volt them, I won't be able to crank them back up when I really need the airflow.

trust me, when they're cranked up, it sounds like a freaking jet engine... srsly.
