When does it stop? Where does it stop? Frankly, I'm starting to regret getting another 360 after my last one died on general purpose of just not feeding the beast.

and that is why i hate mircosoft they should quit being so selfish and stop trying to monopolize the market on everything they do by cutting people out and copying everbody elses ideas. i hope the other company wins cause those cards are way more affordable than microsofts

I really hope Datel wins this lawsuit as the microsoft cards are a complete ripoff.
Maybe Datel should get approved as an authorized manufacturer?

Look a little deeper.. People are buying these Datel units with a removable SD card and using them to give themselves achievements they didn't earn. That's why Datel hasn't submitted the cards to MS for testing and licensing, they know the cards would fail.
If Microsoft has included provisions in the console to only work with authorized hardware, and Datel has circumvented those illegally, they haven't got a leg to stand on taking MS to court.

I'm not going to tow the company line and look a LOT deeper.
Banned consoles cannot save games to HDD so instead of buying a cheap memory card they have to buy MS's more expensive one. A win, win, win for MS.
Mad Catz has to be looking at this with great interest.

I'd hate to say "I told you so..."
No wait! That's not me...
I love to say "I told you so!"
Of course it doesn't "stop."
It never stops!
The just banned a million people and now they're looking to see what else they can get away with.

you gotta pay if you want to play...
Things like this are so transparent, its easy to see through. Its like when SONY tried to tell everyone that the rumble feature interfered with their motion sensors, when in reality they didn't want to pay royalties for rumble. All these companies will squeeze hard enough to get every ounce of juice from you, release new product, rinse and repeat. There is no doubt in my mind that there will be a workaround for this.

What the hell are you talking about? (And where the hell did YOU come from Frank? Last I remembered you lost like a hundred pounds... then you kept shrinking... and then you disappeared! :p j/k)
We're just talking about memory cards now. Nobody's talking about hacking.
...third party memory cards.

Get this, a friend of mine who reminds me of Rat and Flurp and takes the corporate side of the argument in nearly everything agrees with it because apparently people use these memory cards to copy game saves and and profiles to and then take the SD card out and use their PC to hack the profiles and saves to cheat and unlock the near impossible achievements.
I didn't even freaking know that was possible. How many people are actually going to do this? It HAS to be a VERY minimal amount.
His response was pure gold. "You wouldn't make a very good network administrator because ANY instance of this happening leaves open the opportunity to compromise the whole Xbox LIVE network. I don't blame them for shutting it down."
I immediately facepalmed.

This was actually really old news and was warned way WAY in advance by M$ themselves. Because they didn't join the club and get their products approved, lol don't try to make it more then it is. This post made it pretty obvious your a M$ hater, that and the other threads you've commented in lol.

oh... misread what you were talking about. the way you were typing, it seemed as though it was about the recent wave of 1million bannings... not memory cards.
*edit*
still working on the weightloss rainless. I've reached a plateau at about 320lbs (still much lighter than 500lbs+). Also gone from size 64+ pants to size 48/50 (depends on who makes them). From size 6x shirts to size 2x/3x.
....?
If thier console wasnt banned in the first place, they wouldnt have to get the knock off memory cards.
Besides...Who uses memory cards anymore?
Your just adding fuel to the fire of the already dead horse...

ok woah this topic got derailed some how.
this isnt about banning consoles or hacking them its about being able to use other memory cards. i dont see any where any thing about a memory card in the article about a memory card that uses an SD slot. even if it was it wouldnt matter because there are usb ports on the thing that are able to use removable drives for various things so memory card isnt the best way to pirate games.
this is about being able to use some one elses cheeper memory card.
becomming official also has a draw back, some times there are minimum set prices.
theres a name for that and it was brought up in general but i cant think of it (where manu. determins min. price)

Wow. Congratulations.
I'm doing real estate now and I just had to take a client... to get clothes.
And he's an ex-football player. So he was like 6'5" and 300+ pounds and wore a size 50.
It's really REALLY tough for me to imagine anybody bigger than him now.
Maybe a wrestler or something... but he's easily the biggest guy I ever saw up close in person. (Besidesa sumo dude on the train in Tokyo.)

Who uses memory cards? People who want to backup their game saves.
Although I hear you may be able to use a USB key now.
Can anybody confirm that?
I know you couldn't on the old firmware I had. I tried just before I sold my system.
Kinda dumb to say people would buy memory cards just because they hacked their systems. I mean COME ON... it's a damned memory card.
That's like saying people buy SD cards because they hacked their cameras...

I'm about the same size as that guy. I never WAS a Microsoft hater before but the 360 is making me one now.

Ah, well when I posted that I was thinking why do you need to use a memory card when you can just recover your gamer tag...but wasnt totally thinking when I said that.
I will have to try the USB key trick, but as far a I know you cant use an external drive anymore. I used to use one but have been unable to get it to show up on my 360 since the update that included the new dashboard. Tho I never tried after it quit working...

That's funny because the free data transfer cable microsoft gives out can do the same thing.

That's just RIDICULOUSLY stupid... I mean why the hell would they disable USB keys? Why do you even NEED a memory card to backup saves?
Say what you will about Sony... but there's no such thing as a "PS3 memory card." It's 2009... even NINTENDO doesn't have a "Wii memory card."
Why the hell WOULDN'T you be able to backup your saves?
Then they go and OUTLAW the third party cards so you have to get an official Microsoft one... that's beyond stupid.
I don't care how big an Internet Moralist anybody is... you can't help but see the stupidity in that.

If you add a little weight, remove a bit of hair, and remove about twenty-to-thirty years of age, yeah I do see a resemblance to Ballmer.

It may be stupid, but microsoft is just moping up business.
Want to know whats stupid? People get banned, and they just take it, they sell their banned stuff on craigslist and buy a new one. Why not just stop buying new ones everytime you get banned for w/e reason and go to a console that is not going to do that crap to you.
One of my favorite things about PSP / Ps3 is the ability to mod and such with out much repercussions other than warranty.
