Is the geforce 3 TI500 really that much better than what I have? Or should I wait for the Geforce 4 to make a big difference. My 3dmark2000 score with basic config was 9751. My 3dmark2001 score was 4879. Is this good? Will it be that much better with a geforce 3/4? Any help would be appreciated.

its much smarter to wait for the GeForce 4. The MX's will be way cheaper than the gf3s were when they came out anyways. That was my plan until my @*#^@( card got fried...oh well :)
You can bet i'll be the first person to have a gf5 tho!
Well most card will be better than your card beyond the Ultra Series. But if you do buy a card make sure you buy it after the GeForce 4 hits the market since the other GeForce 3 prices will drop.

Maybe so, but not noticeably at all. I had a GF2PRO and the only noticable difference between the performance on my system and the performance on my friends system with a GF3TI500 is 3dmark2k1 scores...
All the games ran exactly the same. After the framerates hit 80 or 90, its hard to notice the difference after that. Personally I would rather not spend 300 bucks on a gfx card just to have higher 3dmark scores. All the technology and speed might be necesary later, but for now, most (if not all) games made to date will run very well on a GF2PRO (especially an overclocked one)

Yeah, unless you have a TNT2 or a Rage Fury Pro or a Voodoo3 at this point its pointless not to wait for G4 to come out...
