Lastnight was the first time I tried out my direct die cooling. Well after awhile my Fiancee and I went to lay down and watch T.V. I turned off the one in the living room and the surround sound ( bad choice). Well needless to say I had my pump plugged in to the surround sound. About 30 mins later I came out to see how the computer was doing ( I was defragging it ). What I seen was a black screen. MY computer had been running the whole time without the pump being on. I tried to reboot once then I noticed no water moving. I plugged in the pump and thank God the computer still works. I guess some of the water stayed in the block. Talk about being lucky.

That set up was a temp thing just to make sure it worked. Later on the pump will be plugged in to a surge master.

Luck...I guess...maybe a little..

I still remember the time I forgot to plug my pump in.

Went to play Half Life, Op force, came out about 30 mins later and loaded up MBM... oh lovely 70 deg C beep beep..

See thats the thing I couldn't check my temps. My computer didn't want to do anything I had to shut it down the hard way.

That is why my pump is hooked up to a relay so when my pc is turned my pump turns on and I have the AC for the pump soldered on to the inside of the power supply so it can become unpluged. I had to do this to wife/kid proof my pc.

Heck, I did that for my PC just out of convenience and ease of use. It works good. Not if you use peltiers though.

That happened to me once. I started plying NHL 2002 and suddenly I hear beep beep beep. That was the 50C alarm. Stupid pump wasn't plugged in. Hasn't happened since. I didn't have as much of a problem considering I have Intel. Still, it was scary.

My ladies rig is a Intel rig as well. I'm the only one using the AMD processor.

you can set the pc to switch off if the cpu reaches a certain temp 70 celcius in the BIOS

You can do that with a Aopen AX34 Pro II. Huh I guess I missed that in the Bios.
