Well... here is the long and the short of it...
Hi Kris,
Due to other problems we're having, I haven't had time to check this out yet. Hopefully, I will have the time soon.
Eric
The problems we, perhaps, all understand (as I sit here eyeing my yellow SETI Driver icon in the tool try)...
Rest assured, we will get benz4140's issue resolved...
Crunch on!!!
Hopefully, he maybe just stretching the deadline further and further who knows :D

Can't condemn them for their priorities. I do hope that his "soon" statement is really "soon" - getting tired of not getting uploads and downloads.
We all hope its soon...but me especially I'm less than 40 away from my 1000 WU mark and I have 25-30 completed WU's that dont wanna upload
I'm gettin kinda itchy here :eh?:

Thanks for the info Kris. And like everyone else, I hope something gets fixed soon. I'm able to upload/download only one WU at a time and then I get "timed out." I'm never going to catch rogerdugans at this rate!

Your itchy...I am loosing over 20 work units a day here. Darn servers. Oh well. Gives me time to fool around and tweak my system.

Sure you will! I've sent about 25 wu out to look for ET at this point: I bet we find ET before my wus too!!!!!!!!!
Upload 1, lose 1, download 2: thats how its going here!

That hasn't been the case these past few days which is why I have WU's building up. I've just been waiting to hit 1000 for a while now ....I think thats a huge milestone for crunching so I'm just a bit impatient

I have been moving my finished WU / new WU from my home to the work, as doing all this uploading with a dial-up connection is killing me.....
Also I have lost like 10 WU when the SETI clc opens and then after some minutes (well actually like 45 to 60 minutes) closes. When I point to SETIDriver it says "4 WU ready, 5 need to fill".....then I check SETISpy and I was not given credit of the WU....I hope they do something about the bandwith.....I'm begining to feel ^]X[^ breathing behind me.....

I hear ya guys...
I have the Mac running now 7 it has NO CACHE PROGRAM... just a GUI.... needless to say it has spent the better part of 3 days now waiting for another WU... :eh?:
Sux, sux-sux... :(
I wake up at 7:45 for school everyday so its no problem transmitting for me. :D

Getting up to transmit at 11:00pm - 02:00am PST is fine and all, if your PC is caching WU's - but like Morpheus with Mac, and others with linux, that do not have caching proggys, their clients are sitting there idle - waiting to upload and download.:(

My linux clients are running 50/50 right now: half of them are getting wus and the other aren't.
One good thing: although SetiQ is having "loss" problems with uploads, I still have a bunch of linux wus queued up so i just redirect the client there to get a unit, and then back to normal. A bit of a pain but it keeps 'em crunching!
A Sad Note: I have the upload cache from SetiQ cleared out now, unfortunately I only got credited with about 30 of them. There were 57.:(
It's not hard to use caching with linux clients...if you have at least one windows machine to run the cache on. I use SETIQueue on a windows machine and point all of my other machines to it like this.
./setiathome -verbose -proxy 192.168.0.x:5517
SETIQueue runs on port 5517 so just edit your shortcuts/command lines to point to the proxy using the correct IP address for your local network.
I'm sure a Que exists for linux but I have not delved that far into it to know.

Rodgerdugans...
next time... back them up before you upload... if SETI Q is anything like Driver, it will make folders for each WU...
I used to back up ALL the time, cause Berkeley would drop the ball when I was uploading a 30WU group... I'd check the stats and if something was screwed up... I'd wait a day & upload the same group again... The server rejects the duplicated WUs & will credit the lost WUs...
worked well for me, if you could do something similar it might save you a lot of cycles...

I'm doing exactly what Kris suggest. As I'm transfering my WU from my home to work I have a backup....just unzip the folders and transmit them. If you get no credit from them, just wait one or two days and try again, duplicated WU are rejected.....
I hope this problem is solved soon.....if you check the challenge graph all team are decresing their output as some cached unit are beeing kept untransmitted.
