1800XP with 1999 date on chip?

I just opened my new 1800XP chip and I noticed that the date 1999 is on the chip, just making sure I'm not getting screwed. The part number on the chip is AX1800DMT3C.

I believe that's the patent date, all of AMD's have it. Your CPU is much newer than that.

As far as the code from the core of your CPU, you have an XP1800+, with a 266FSB.

If you would post the next couple of lines from the core, we could tell you the exact week and year of manufacture and give you an idea of what to expect from it.
