I am thinking of buying a 5.1 PC speaker setup. I am looking for recommendations of some 5.1 speakers. I would like to keep it $100 or cheaper. Thanks. Has anyone heard of these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400014570374) speakers?

Is this for music ? Gaming ? Movies ?

And don't be fooled by the 3000 watt speakers. They're 40 watts RMS.

They would be for gaming and movies. I thought that 3000 watts was a little much.

40-50 is a bit much too. Those things probably get about 4 watts each. Stay far away, it's total junk.

edit: If you wanna go cheap, how bout http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121006 ?

+1 to logitech, my speakers from them are still going after 6 years

Like Ratbuddy said, any 5.1 speaker solution under 100$ is going to be pretty cheap.

If you don't absolutely need 5.1, ~100$ 2.1 setups are pretty solid in quality.

A $100 2.0/2.1 setup will sound better than a $100 5.1 setup any day of the week.

If you have the room to place the speakers correctly to take advantage of surround sound then do it. Logitech is a solid brand.

If you don't have enough room and your speakers are placed to close together, or you sit to close to speakers, or the space between you and the speakers is not correct it will not only not give you a surround sound feeling, but could very well sound worse then a simple decent 2.1 setup.
