Dear Timberwolf7318,

I understand we are both in the minor-leagues and only in the 200k (almost 300k) bracket. You can stop running from me, as I will pass you.

Thanks,

JLF12345

P.S.- Keep up the good work

And I will pass you in less than 2 months!

BTW Awesome Avatar lol.

ironically, im only running an 8800gts (320mb) and gonna pass him.... anyone know if I should even run an SMP client too on the same rig (see sig)?

Every little bit helps... and running SMP as well should not effect your GPU production.

On that CPU you're probably looking at around 1k PPD on the 1920pt WUs (just guessing, I have no hard numbers on AMDs anymore)... so you'll have to run pretty much 24x7 to make the deadlines... but it can do it.

maybe its not worth it then, i only run folding heavy during the week cause I run it when I goto bed, and till I wakeup on the weekends, or during the week, when I get home from work...

Well, I decided to run F@H SMP on the MacBook Pro 2.4ghz C2D, it seems to be going alright, if not a bit slow. gerring ~30mins per %, but this thing comes with an 8600GT (think that can do cuda).. is there a GPU client out there? or should I just run the SMP...

additionally, I have a linux VM on here, should I bother with running any VM stuff? or just rock as is?

On my 8600GS M I get about 700ppd, fyi.

I gots a rifle for Mr. Timberwolf... too bad hes not running fast enough..... maybe I should donate him a WU or two after I pass him :P

Well, I passed him yesterday....

Passed him + no-show in trash talk thread = failed trash-talk thread :(

Back to 1.7 my friend... my points have yet to stabilize from starting to fold again last week (after a long idle time).

Then again, I'm sure your average PPD hasnt fully stabilized yet either from hardware changes :P

Yeah had a GPU client hang for 2 hours last night for some reason. Should be back to around 9K PPD today or tomorrow.

What's your Folding ID Bluefalcon? I can't find you in the stats...

With the MacBook... I'd fire up a Linux VM if it's got the memory to spare. Much better PPD than Windows SMP... oh, and leave the GPU off - it's not worth the wear and tear on the laptop - IMO.

JLF12345 - if you look how I 'signed' my post I signed it with my folding ID

Hehe... I see that now. :D

onefstsnake looks like he's got your number... better start Folding 24x7 to keep up bro. ;)

there is no way I could keep up... hes got too much hardware... TBH, I started folding again to try and get a free upgrade for my Video Card cause eVGA doesn't make this model anymore... kill the card, RMA, new card :D

Too much hardware? lol
Just a 3 year old rig and an HTPC.

Whats kinda funny is my Phenom IIx2 545 @ 3.3Ghz only makes about 500ppd more than my Athlon 64x2 6000+ @ 3.3Ghz.
4500ppd between the two of them.

Now if I dont run the CPU client my 8800 Ultra will do ~7000ppd.
But with the CPU client running its knocks back to ~5000ppd.

2 GPUs and 2 CPUs > 1 CPU and 1 GPU...

If I folded 24/7 my GPU will do about 3.4k PPD(guesstimate), so the fact you have one better GPU, and one GPU which is under mine performance wise, and 2 CPUs folding, your PPD is gonna exceed mine ALOT...

BTW, my rig, minus the GPU, spare HDD, processor, and 4 gigs of ram, was assembled in '06, CPU/RAM upgrade was last x-mas, and GPU upgrade was RMA love from eVGA

Well now its 2CPUs and 1 GPU.
Took the 8600GTS out of the mix.

Figure out the Mac?

GPU seems to be in limbo, and I'd rather fold on that than the CPU (too slow for the CPU and my purposes). Maybe after I get parallels 5 (mmmm VMs with 3d hardware support) maybe I'll setup a small minimal Linux VM for GPU folding. Besides, as it is right now, the Macbook Pro will be less of a home appliance, and see less time plugged in as I just signed an offer for a job to get me outta a dead-end government contracting job, and actually start my Network Engineering career (got my CCNA in August of this year). I was thinking about setting up a Single core client on my rig, but I'm not sure it would be worth it.

we will both be well into the 400k range before you pass me, and it dropped again, guess your SMP clients finished :P

Yeah I had a 1920 finish this morning. Wish my GPU would get more 1888s

seems my PPD is stabilizing right around 3300 for part time GPU folding... got the MBP running SMP client last night, but I dont know how far along it is. I need a hand in optimizing PPD from that thing (T7700 C2D, 2.4ghz) so I can make max points from it with part-time folding.
