Free DVD Software?

Are there any free DVD software programs that will work with a old DVD player? I have "Power DVD", but it keeps causing errors and will not work.

The DVD drive is on a system running Win98se.

most people don't know this, but windows media player will play dvd's. also, i like windvd - it works well and i like the way the settings and such are set up. i use both of these, with winxp, and haven't had any problems with them.

I found a trial version of WinDVD it seems to work pretty good.
