i dont know if this would help but try to use a good old win 98 boot disk. Put it in, boot up, let it load dos, take out the win98 boot disk, then put in the floppy that has ur bios flashind stuff and go from there.

DONT do what that other guy said. here is how to correctly make a dos bootdisk in xp.

put a floppy in and right click on a: drive in mycomputer and click format.

There should be a check box at the bottom that says "make msdos bootdisk" check that. Format the disk as a msdos bootdisk then put whatever files you need to flash your bios on the disk. Restart the pc w/ the floppy in the disk and walla, you got your bios flashed :D

My suggestion is to download this (http://download.viahardware.com/faq/kt7/downloads/Misc/drdflash.exe) . After download just put a blank formatted floppy into your floppy drive and run the file. THe floppy starts your computer as clean as is can be. Ideal for BIOS updating (or downdating if u like  )

Good luck!

I still have my Win98 bootdisk from like 5 years ago.

I think I'll retire it soon.
