I am building my first computer after about 8 years.

I am getting an MSI 790FX-GD70, and the MSI website says the memory slots are 1.5v.
"Supports four unbuffered DIMM of 1.5 Volt DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600*/1800*/2133* (OC) SDRAM, 16GB Max"

The memory I got is Corsair Dominator 8GB kit (4x2GB) with these specs
Capacity 8GB (4 x 2GB)
Speed DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Cas Latency 8
Timing 8-8-8-24
Voltage 1.65V

My question is about the voltage, do I have to return this kit and get another? Or can I use these sticks with my system and lowering the voltage in the BIOS? I don't want to ruin my system (those of us on budgets can't afford much), and it was just happenstance that I noticed the voltage differences with the MOBO and the RAM.

Thanks in advance, and this is my first post.

EDIT: Supported RAM from MSI website.

Intel originally recommended using memory that adhered to the JEDEC memory spec. for DDR3 which is 1.5V +/-5% (max. 1.575V), and that overvolting past that spec. could damage the IMC in the i7. They've since changed that to read...

"Intel recommends using memory that adheres to the Jedec memory specification for DDR3 memory which is 1.5 volts. The Intel® Core™ i7 processors should not be used with DDR3 memory that is rated for voltage over 1.65 volts. Anything over this voltage can either damage the processor or significantly reduce the processor life span."

So chances are that your BIOS will default the DRAM frequency to DDR3-1333MHz at 1.5V, which means you'll need to manually adjust the frequency to 1603MHz (2:12 FSB : DRAM multiplier), and the DRAM voltage to 1.65V.

Thanks for the reply red. I am just going to install the RAM and see what happens. BUT, I still have to wait for my parts to get here, since the highway was closed and the carrier couldn't go pick up my stuff (Alaska snow ftw).
