I get horrible 2D lag while running the GPU client (which i've reinstalled just today).

Symptoms

*Very choppy and laggy scrolling.
*3 second delay while opening/closing windows
*very choppy while moving windows around. (windows all the fancy borders and transparent windows are turned off (max performance)).
*anything flash based is impossible to even look at, let alone use...

If I click on the folding tray Icon and tell it to pause, the system instantly becomes lag-free...

Currently running windows 7 RC and I am currently using dual screens. (nvidia control panel is set to multiple monitor performance mode).

I'm currently running the latest drivers, though I just upgraded them today from a much older version. over the last 6 months the drivers have been changed 3 or 4 times and the issue has never gone away...

when I first built this computer, the GPU client worked without issue...

Here's the client log

I sometimes get a little lag on some sites when I can crunching a 353 point WU or similar ones. When crunching on a 1888 pointer I dont have any lag or anything. Can even game while folding with out issue. Try enabling Areo as klear said, if that doesnt work I have no further ideas.

Q6600 @ 3.2, 2 x GTX260, Win 7 Home Premium x64 aero enabled, 191.07, Vmware Player 3 with 4-core Ubuntu 9.10 guest.
I'm not seeing any lag. VMware will also cause lag as you describe if left running at normal priority on some hardware. You didn't tell us what you're running.

Areo has no effect, on or off.

this is an i7 920 (currently at 3.5ghz) running VMWare player 3.0. with 64bit ubuntu gnawing on some 8 core A2's. (not the bigadv ones). The GPU client is running on a GTX 260 with the 195.62 drivers... Again I see this issue with these drivers and 2 or 3 others i've tried.

Stopping/starting the cpu client/vmware has no effect on the lag.

The only noticibe difference i've noticed is when I turn off the GPU client and the lag instantly vanishes.

HFM reports i'm getting 7800PPD out of the card and there's no hints of any errors or restarts in the log. Task manager says the GPU client is using between 0% and 2% cpu usage so nothing abnormally locking up the cpu...

When I originally built this computer and initally installed FAH on it, I could game and run the GPU client simultaneously without issue. What the heck has changed since then?

No its just 2d lag ozzlo I'm getting it on my XP rig and have been since I started running the GPU client. I never think too much about it.....Maybe I just need a better video card and it wouldn't do that.
