5870 back in stock at the Egg ! 3 models to choose from. I don't know why but I bought the more expensive XFX model.

I bought one as well.

I must say Alien, I almost get goosebumps in the Classified section when I see one of your threads listed. If it wasn't for the addition on my house, that Maximus would have been mine.

nice to see them getting back close to MSRP. I want the 5850 but am not paying what they are asking for them right now. I would have bought 2 of the patriot torqx ssd's a new psu and teh card if they were reasonable on the 5850 right now. 389 at zipzoomfly for a 259 card

Well, if you can't find a cheaper deal anywhere else then it probably does belong here.

The deal this time is that they have lowered the price from infinity dollars (not available)... That's a huge percentage savings!!!

I'd buy the cheapest 5870 available because they are all the same. The only two I might pay a bit of a premium for is either the Asus or MSI version because they have better bios' that allow for higher OCs right out of the box. The others need to be flashed.

ZZF is really starting to go downhill IMO..

Boy I'd love one of these. I actually was looking at the 5850's and Newegg had a refurb for $180. I sat for like 10 minutes pondering on if I could get away with it with the wife, and finally decided "aww screw it" and went to do it but someone snatched it. :(

Still haven't sold out. I guess all the desperate buyers already have their cards. I hope they stay right where they are until the prices come down. I want another one for crossfire but the price hike is causing me not to be so interested at the moment.

I could be wrong, but when the new 5XXX series launched, weren't the prices $260 for a 5850 and $370 for a 5870? Now they both seem about $50 higher...

I don't know the exact prices at release but they were in the neighborhood of what you listed.

thats what the prices were, then amd raised the retail by $20 american. So then the ripoffs started. I wont support any of the e-tailers until this crap stops

Ditto, I'm waiting till the 5870 hits the original $379 MSRP. It's pretty shady how they launched at one price so it would be published in all the reviews, then raised prices. Lot of folks probably blaming it solely on the retailers when AMD raised their prices too. Apparently the $409 cards on Newegg are actually only $10 above the new MSRP.

I agree, but there has to be a market for it. Hopefully some of them are planning on using it for years. Who am I kidding? If I could afford to get one I'm buying another one as soon as a new one comes out http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/6/63/Ddrlol.gif

These things are in stock for minutes at a time and no more it seems. This has been OOS since minutes after the thread started, then it restocked and was gone.

As I noted in the 5870 availability thread, they were in stock for several days. Dunno why this is even in cyber deals, when the cards are still over MSRP.

Actually in stock most of the day yesterday at Newegg. I haven't seen any 5970s since release though, and those suckers were gone almost instantly.

I wonder how many people buy from newegg only to chuck it on ebay and make a few more $$$$$ I bet that's where most of them end up.

I had a hefty decision to make between the 5870,5850...I just for the life of me couldn't decide...

I went to random.org and entered the range 1 to 2. 1 representing the 5850, 2. representing the 5870.

I said i'll buy the winner best out of five

First number drawn was a 2
followed by a 2
and another 2

I thought it might be broken so I kept clicking generate number

6 "2's" later I hit a 1 and said to myself "well that was pretty straightforward..." *noting to myself the extreme odds of getting 6 2's in a row...

$420 bucks later here I am 5870 on the way... My current card is getting donated to the folding contest...
