View Full Version : Which method to burn in?

I remember a thread long ago that explained how one should "properly" burn in their cpu. I've got it bookmarked but have yet to read it. Anyways, from what I gather, it stated that I should run my cpu at the lowest possible fsb with the highest voltage setting?

Anyways, I've been defeating that purpose and have been burning in (seti, folding, prime) at my OCed speed. I was wondering if this method is good to use to "hopefully" increase ones fsb or lower the amount of voltage needed gradually or should I start my burn in process all over and use the "proper" method? I'm not sure what I'm doing right now is helping me push my fsb up or lower my voltages.

Help is appreciated :)

to burn a CPU in....

Lowest MHz posible
MOST VOLTAGE posible
CPU @ 100% load
oh and yes the stadard good cooling still applys, you dont really wana burn the chip now do you :)

Also note that some people swear by burning in CPU's and others say it doesnt do a thing. The fact of the matter is, thier is no real proof for either side of the argument.... So, give it a shot, cross your fingers and hope for the best
