Just bought an Antec SX830 today which has a 300 watt power supply. I'm now thinking that I should return it and get the 400W version for $50 more.

I plan on running an AMD 1800 XP, Alpha HS w/fan, 5 case fans, 1 burner, 1 CDROM, 1 3.5", 1 or 2 HDD's.

Thanks for your input!

If the vendor will let you return it for the 400W model, do it. The 400W is a real workhorse and will serve your needs as long as you own it. I have an 840 and simply love it.

Having a good PSU is important in overclocking as it eliminates one of those what if? situations when you are not sure why you hit a dead end. If possable and funds are not the issue return it for the 400w

Thanks for the input. I'm going to return my 300W today and get the 400W!
