Hi all
I'm in need of some information about cache RAM. I need a lot to read about it, so I can learn a lot about it. I haven't been able to find anything good myself, so I thought I would ask you guys.

Thanks

BTW I don't know if I has posted this in the wrong section, but if I have, would a mod move it? Thx....

Cache RAM is used:
a) In a processor to store temporary/frequently used data/instructions.
b) In Hard Drives to stroe data to be written to the disk, as the disk cannot keep up with memory.
c)In CDRWs going by the same principle
d)Printers to store data to be printed.

Cache RAM can be SDRAM, or SRAM.

Thanks, but I know the basic stuff. I need to know the more tecgnical stuff about them, like: Does chache RAMs use memory mapping like normal ram does?

??
Wouldn't think so - addressable by the device only perhaps. I'm lost now. Higher Computing Systems notes are no use :D

I just noticed we both took a drop of about 100 posts since we made this little race. Coincidence?

I checked when you first proposed (didn't want too much of an uphill battle), and I think we were both real close to 1900 posts, and now we're both under 1800. Hey, just makes the game that much more fun!

Could be one of the higher powers having some fun and extending the race a bit longer :D
