Does it say Retail or OEM?
I would just get the Retail card. Probably faster.
I believe the big manufactuers Like hurcules and gullimont are making retail boards at 275/275 and some are going to make Ultra style cards at 300/300.. but I would make sure first..
I love my Radeon8500!!

On paper the Giga-Byte Radeon due on shelves After the Chinese New Year is better than ATI's retail 8500, as the Giga-Byte has faster memory and hardware monitoring, Built by ATI 8500's dont/.
That 300/300 128mb Ultra Radeon looks like it will be sweet.....TO bad ATI doesn't have the drivers to back up thier great hardware.

it is a retail one. so simply put, will you guys recommend it or not?
Hercules makes some good vidcard's, so I can't se any reason not to buy it. Unless it expensive.
If you like to work with your hardware as in tweaking, and trying different drivers, then the 8500 will be fine for you.. It really is a great card, however as you have heard the drivers are not the best, but tell you the truth I haven't had to many problems at all with mine, but under your setup you never know.. and ATI is bound to nail some drivers soon.. there has been decent gains with each Leaked and Offical driver, will see how far ATI can take this card..
