View Full Version : Should I order Kingmax 333DDR for new sys?
I have seen so many conflicting reports on kingmax ddr333 that I am not sure what to think! In the next day or 2 I am ordering a XP 1800+. Abit KR7A-133R, and am thinking about the Kingmax 333ddr memory. What is nice is I can get it all from the same place, googlegear. So has this memory worked out good for you guy's or should I look for something else.
worx wonders for me =) just be sure you get 5ns chips

Yep, definately agree. I've got the '-05' and it is AWESOME. I ordered 2 sticks from Kommax at two different times and both times I got -05's. I would highly recommend this ram.

The markings on the ram are probed not to mean anything. There is -07a, -05 and rumored -06. All bench the same and Kingmax (personally spoke with them) said they were numbered wrong and they are all the same. I had the -07a benched it ran MBM5 info, RMA'd the ram for the -05 mared and it was exactly the same results. SO conclusion. Doesn't matter what it is marked.

Hi ken257,
I'll go in the next days with a system very close to the yours, XP1700+ (AGNGA or better AGOGA if lucky) on the same Mobo or a Shuttle AK35GT-R (for the Vcore settable up to 2.2v), and I'm considering the Kingmax DDR333, like the CorsairXMS PC2700 too, that seems to be really cool like all the Corsair products ;)
Well I ordered everything on my list but the ram. I also saw some Mushkin PC2700 at Newegg, that looks tempting to as I have used quite a bit of Mushkin ram and it has always been top quality stuff!
My only holdup now with this system is it will be limited to a single 172w pelt. I needed a stronger power supply for 2 pelts and it figures I just got a call the one I ordered is BACKORDERED:mad:

Well, you wanna squeeze all the juice possible from that chip man!!! ;)
Onestly I think that a 172w Pelt is more than enough, but, you know I'm not experienced on watercooling & pelts, only aircooling for the moment :p
About my new rig, well, I'm having a lot of probs to found all the components, here both the Mobos are still not available, and about the mem modules well, the prices are really Crazy, more than 150$ for 256Mb of Kingmax and much more for the CorsairXMS!!!
I decided to go with the Mushkin PC2700 from Newegg. I just have had such great luck with Mushkin in the past so I stuck with them. I got 2X256 and it should be here in a few days, will post how it does after I get a chance to set up my new system :D

Who has a KR7A or the raid version with the Kingmax 5ns chips? If you do, could you please post some performance results like Mhz, voltage, ram timmings and whatever you feel would help us understand what kind these modules are capable of. Kommax is guaranteeing that they have 5ns chips. As I am not at all satasfied with my OCZ pc2700 running @ 135 w/ highest memory timings, I am looking to upgrade. Thanks
