When i had my 4870s i was not able to use my X-FI as my defualt audio source. My 4870's where listed as my main audio source (device manager)and over rode my PCI-E X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty.I didnt have this problem with my PCI X-FI Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty.Anyone know why?.And how i could i have fixed this.Even unistalling the audio portion of the HD 4870's in the device manager didnthelp because as soon as i would reboot the same thing would happed. Also i never in stalled the HD audio drivers for the cards.Just curious as to why this happened. This makes me not want to try a HD 5870 even though i was gonna grab one.But im not sure i want one now just because of this

You can just switch between your audio playback devices easy in 7, if that's your problem. Just rightclick the audio icon on the startbar icons and select "playback devices". Then you just select the device you want to use and that's it.

Maybe I'm missing something... because it does sound to easy =)

It wasnt that easy.It was with my PCI X-FI Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Pro but not with the PCI-E X-FI Titanium.I couldnt even install drivers for the Titanium. But put my GTX 260 back in and everything is fine. Now the 4870's worked great dont get me wrong.Just not with my X-FI Titanium

My 4870s work fine with my X-Fi XtremeGamer. You have the option to not install the HD audio drivers when you install the ATI drivers. Just leave them out like I do.

Yeah i was gonna do a fresh install but it was a clean install so i just slapped my GTX260 in and when it worked without problems i just sold the 4870's and kept my GTX 260.But with my PCI Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty they worked fine.If it wasnt for that i would have kept them
