I can get to 275/600 With stock cooling, is this ok? THe core goes to bout 290 but after that it crashes pretty quickly.
I have MAD case cooling, 600CFM and a blower under the 8500, will getting Ramsinks and replacing the stock HSF help get me over 300/600.
I want 300/600 so BADLY!!!
See Rage3d.com for all the best Radeon8500 info.. goto forums..
Thats a pretty neat overclock you got yourself there. Get another GPU cooler and go for the 300MHz on the core! ;)

Nick,
I forgot, is your 8500 retail or OEM?
Reason I ask is that at your highest setting if the GPU is running fairly cool and you have an OEM the Vmem may be holding you back.
ps Even if its running cool that ATI heatsink is pathetic and should be replaced as its more like a decoration then a funtioning piece of hardware.

Nick,
I have a half dozen of those useless ATI heatsinks, if you find a use for them Im all ears :)
I see some bozo selling them on Ebay starting bid $4.99 as useless as they are people are bidding on them.
I refuse to sell them on the principle that they are useless.

Maybe I can melt them down and mould then into a better HSF!
Oh well, I've forgotten where to get that Mini Alpha HSF in the UK:rolleyes:
Now I've got some cash I can order those tweakmonster ramsinks and AS3.
I just need a GPU cooler!
If that cooler does nothing then maybe I should take it off....lol:beer:
