Well I had my 8600GTS XXX folding for about a week straight. Came home after work one night and checked HFM on that rig and noticed 5 EUE's...
On everyone it gets to ~5-10% then errors out... Temps are within spec.
Havent changed anything on the rig.
Tried running GPU client only and still get an error.
Deleted and reinstalled systray client, still errors out.
Downclocked the card to stock 8600GTS specs, still errors out.
I dont get it...
It could be one of two things. You can get a bad WU, which often get sent to you over and over until the machine errors out. I don't think that's the case here. My experience with the 8600 GT is that it is a marginal folder. Certain types of WUs simply won't fold on it without large numbers of EUEs. I gave up trying on mine. Recently the Assignment of GPU WUs appears to have been in batches of the same type WUs, almost all 353 pointers, or 787 pointers or almost all 1888 pointers. Right now on the machines I can see, 4 out of 5 are 787 pointers. When you hit the type it won't fold, you're probably going to error out the same WU five times (if the WU was trashed and no results were returned) and then when you start it back, get the same type WU and start erroring again. My foggy recollection is the 353 pointers did in my 8600.
If you want to try to fix it, SOP is reboot, see if that works. If not, uninstall the driver and reinstall. If that doesn't work, uninstall the driver, run a driver clleaner and revert to an earlier official cuda driver, 180.60 probably being the best choice. If that doesn't work, you simply have a 8600GT like mine, that won't fold.
Part of the problem with lots of EUEs can be attributed to the lost WU logic employed by the assignment server. If you go back to the AS without having returned the last WU it assigned you, it assumes you "lost" it and sends the same WU again. If it's a bad WU it errors out again. If it's a type the 8600 can't fold, it errors out again. Either way you're going to get 5 in a row and go into a 24 hour pause, if no results are returned to the server.

Ok I used Driver Sweeper to uninstall the driver, restarted, then loaded up 190.32 driver.
Got 1 EUE this morning and 2 good WU's later on.
So Im starting up VM and hopefully they will play nice and not EUE a bunch.
33% EUE/UM isn't going to cut it. Watch it close.

Well its on its 4th WU since the driver change and at 60% with normal frame times. Im hoping going to the older driver fixes it.
I downclocked it a bit more just to be safe.
