What are most people overclocking this card to w/o volt modding? Typically what is the safest with a stock cooler?

Depends, some as little as 900, some can reach 950-960. Using msi afterburner, you can boost the voltage to 1.35 and reach the high 900's usually.

Editing the ini file in afterburner lets you adjust voltage a lot higher than 1.35 :) I fixed my stock cooler and well over 1000MHz is doable :)

Thanks for the tip! It wouldnt let me set my clock higher than 1000 either!

I have run it up to 1100 with 1.4325 90% fan speed (i have never set 100% I dont know why LOL) and run Furmark in 640x480 stability test mode. But it is not really stable cause I cant bench it :(

Oh not INI file CFG
add the following line
[ATIADLHAL]
EnableUnofficialOverclocking = 1

Max 4890 OC
The early ones dont oc to good power regular parts get to hot.
Both of my cards run at 1.35 1.2v.
My early MSI @971 1071 needed a voltage increse to run stable.
MY 2nd 4890 is a HIS turo+ but is a decap version.
Decaps and circuit changes = a higher oc and a cooler running card.
The HIS gpu is 12c cooler on the Gpu.
The HIS will run at 1040 and 1100.
Do to CF both cards are set @971 1071.
Raising the volts gets the power regulating circuits temps to high.
