I need some help trying to get ahold of the specs and info for this system a guy at work brought in to me. Normally while digging around I can find all the info I need to indentify a system, but in this case, I am a "tad" stumped.
The system is fully operational, so it would be nice to see how much info I can find on it. The guy wants to see if it is worth anything, and if he decides to sell it, I may buy it for a keepsake.

Here is a bunch of info I gathered so far:

Manufacturer: Compaq
Model#: 101709
Serial#: 1544021B0279
O/S: DOS 2.12
PSU: ???????
Motherboard: ??????? Serial # G525C03429
Processor: Intel D8749H (mhz ?) (year 1980)
Harddrive: RODIME RO-252 (11 megabyte)
Floppy: 5.25 Mitsubishi Electric
Monitor: 5.5" x 7" (8" diagnal) Green screen
It has a Microsoft.InPort device interface

Of all times not to have a Digital Camera... ungh...
I have already sent an inquiry to Compaq, but depending on wether they care or not, I may not get a reply.

The system looks like a hard plastic carrying case, rather like a sewing machine built in a plastic carry case. It has a brown leather handle on top, and when you set the case down you are actually setting it on the flip up keyboard.

Take the HD apart. There are some seriously large, very strong magnets inside.

I want to keep the system running, not destroy it!:D

I have several sets of the magnets sitting in my toolbox at work. They are great for dropped screw retrieval while working on 727's. With most of the aircraft being made aluminum, the magnets (on a string) slide right down through the skin and sidewalls to retrieve screws.

That did the trick. It's called the Compaq Portable.

All the info I need is there. Thanks Turd! :D
